A Great Seaweed Day, 2019
sculptures (rubber foam, plastic thread, silk, polyester, cotton, carbon fibre, white glue, starch, wheat flour, silicon, laquer, textile dye, acrylic paint)
A Great Seaweed Day is a group of sculptures reminiscent of giant seaweed. They are inspired by encounters with algae in different places and connect the flora of the sea with the flora of the stomach – a sore point where energy flows and emotions converge.
Essay: I am and Algae
A Great Seaweed Day was commissioned by Kiasma for the exhibition Weather Report: Forecasting Future, Nordic Pavilion at the 58th Venice Biennale.
